Allowing my MSP to Lapse

What if I allow my MSP to lapse?

Your software continues to operate, and you will continue to be able to access maintenance updates for bug fixes.  However, your software will NOT recognize enhancements that are included in the updates, so the functionality of your installation will no longer be enhanced by the updates.  Your installation will stay significantly unchanged...no new modules will be added, and no functionality will be removed.

Users with expired MSPs are no longer eligible to receive technical support.  However we will still assist with installation of the last software version you were eligible for when your plan was active (not expired) for 12 months following expiration.  After that, providing support is at our discretion.

Please be aware that for reasons of efficiency, ENERCALC distributes a single program to all users and then adjusts the functionality and feature availability based on the expiration date of the MSP.  For this reason, users with an expired MSP may see features or modules that are indicated but grayed out as being inaccessible.  This serves two purposes: first, it helps us to be efficient by building a single program and throttling the capabilities based on MSP expiration date, and second, it allows users to see what features and modules would be added if they were to renew their MSP immediately.  Also, please be aware that while there will be no material changes to the functionality of an installation that has an expired MSP, our single source file methodology may occasionally  result in a subtle change to the appearance or organization of dialogs, menus, icons, or other cosmetic or organizational characteristics of the program.  Note that these changes can and probably will happen, even to installations that are not covered by an active MSP.

If you allow your MSP to lapse for more than some critical period of time set by Company Policy, an Upgrade Fee will be assessed to the account if the MSP is renewed.  The Upgrade Fee is calculated on a monthly basis since the date that the MSP expired, and its purpose is to cover the development and enhancements that have been introduced into the program since that date.
