What is the difference between the CD and Web installation
files?
There is no difference between the files. Whether you purchase a
CD or download from the web, your installation will be the same.
Caveat: You will always be able to get the LATEST
installation build from an internet download.
What Operating Systems are Supported?
All “32 bit” Windows operating systems work with the
S.E.L. Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, ME, and XP
What files are installed?
All files are placed in the "Installation" directory you
choose. By default this is "EC55". The installation makes
NO changes to ANY system configuration files. It does not make any
entries in your system "registry". It does create a file
named "EC_55.INI" and that is created in the Windows operating
system directory. EC_55.INI contains all the "remembered"
information for your program, including the locations of program,
help, database, and project files.
I have a new computer. How can I move the software?
1) On the OLD COMPUTER, start the S.E.L., select [Cancel] from the
Start-Up screen, select "User Information" from the main
menu, and WRITE DOWN YOUR LICENSE PASSWORD !
2) Simply copy all the files in your installation directory.
3) Also copy any file with an extension "ECW" because
these are the project file you have created.
4) Create a shortcut to the "EC55.exe" program file either
on your desktop or in the start menu.
5) Start the program. It will begin in "Demo" mode.
6) Select the button that says "Let me use the complete package
before purchase" from thr first screan that appears.
7) Select "Cancel" on the "What would you like to
do?" screen
8) Select the menu item "Settings". On the screen displayed
you will see three entries for drive & directory locations.
If needed, change these entries to match the drive and directory
to where you put the Structural Engineering Library program files.
Then select the [OK] button.
9) Select "User Information" from the main menu and enter
your License Password (see step #1).
At this point the drive and directory locations and
License Password have been entered. The software should operate
normally.
How can I install the software on a network
server?
We have special instructions prepared for you that details this
procedure (which is easy). Please contact technical support :
support@enercalc.com
What is the "Network Limiter"?
Our software incorporates a execution "Limiter" that allows
only the authorized number of simultaneous copies to run at once.
The "License Password" you enter established a registration
number and allowed license count for your installed software.
Each time the S.E.L. is started up the file LIMITER_.EC0
is examined to see if other programs are operating that take up
the available simultaneous usages. If not, your session begins.
If you find that you have "Lost" Licenses
(for example you own 5 licenses but can only start 2) then you can
reset the license counter by erasing the LIMITER_.EC0 file (make
sure all S.E.L. user exit their program first).
